What we collect
When you email us. We receive your name, email address and anything you include in your message. We use this to reply to you and, if you wish, to arrange an appointment.
Please do not include detailed medical information in your first email. We will ask for what we need once we are in touch.
When you visit the website. We use Umami, a privacy-focused analytics service, to count visits. It does not use cookies and does not identify you. It records anonymous information such as the pages viewed, the website that referred you, your browser type and your country.
The patient reviews panel on the homepage is provided by Doctify and loads from Doctify’s website. Doctify may store a small functional cookie in your browser to run it. See Doctify’s privacy policy.
Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes technical information such as your IP address to deliver the website and protect it from attacks.
Why we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and arrange care. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in responding to you, or taking steps at your request before providing care. Any health information you choose to send is processed for the purpose of providing healthcare.
- To understand how the website is used so we can improve it. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running the website.
We do not sell your information or use it for marketing.
Who we share it with
We only share information with services that help us run the website and reply to you:
- Zoho Mail, for email
- Cloudflare, for website hosting
- Umami, for anonymous visitor statistics
- Doctify, which displays patient reviews on the homepage
These providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, they use legal safeguards approved under UK data protection law.
If you become a patient, your information will be handled by the hospital where you are seen, under its own privacy policy.
How long we keep it
Enquiry emails are kept for as long as needed to respond and are deleted within 12 months if they do not lead to an appointment. Anonymous visitor statistics are kept by Umami for 6 months.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or object to how we use it. Email admin@thepalpitationsdoctor.com and we will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Cookies
This website does not use cookies for tracking or advertising. The only cookie is the functional one Doctify may set for the reviews panel.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
